The National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) represents the peak of Italy’s commitment in the cutting-edge sectors of subnuclear, nuclear and astroparticle physics. Fundamental research in these sectors requires the use of the very latest research technologies and tools that the INFN develops in its laboratories and in collaboration with the industrial world. The Institute also promotes the transfer of skills, methodologies and instrumental techniques developed as part of its activity to different research fields such as medicine, cultural heritage and the environment.

VISIT:
Upon request, the INFN Section of Trieste organises guided tours of its laboratories in the Padriciano Area Science Park, lasting about two hours, to find out what and how one investigates and studies in a physics laboratory of the infinitely small. The guided tours are reserved for students of the last three years of secondary school.
SCHOOLS:
Higher level secondary schools.
DURATION:
1.30-2 hours approx. for groups of up to 30 students;
2-2.30 hours approx. for groups of up to 50 students
PRICE:
Admission is free, but travel expenses to arrive at the laboratories, as well as any costs of meals, are paid by the visitors.
